Orc and Goblin Magic Cards

I've been looking at getting a set of the Battle Magic Cards for the Big and Little Waaagh!'s respectively but these are no longer made by GW and I'm not really looking to shell out too much for them. Fortunately a quick google found some fan-made cards that you can print out, cut out and laminate yourself. I've printed them out on thick card and they look pretty good.

You can find them at:

Finding a Good Deal

One of the most frustrating parts of playing Warhammer or any GW game for that matter is the obscene price of purchasing their models if you live in New Zealand or Australia. GW has pegged their prices to early 2000's exchange rates and has not changed this despite the massive changes in exchange rates that has occurred. It used to be simple to get a good deal just by ordering from a UK supplier but the recent embargo has put an end to this. Nevertheless there are still a few ways to get a good bargain.

New Models: : This is an American website that covers the entire range of GW products at about 20% off US retail and ships internationally. I've used them before and they have great service and some of the best prices out there. : This is another American website that stocks most of the plastic range of GW models. Prices are good and I've heard good things about them.

Used Models: : This is a large and popular site with people buying and selling a large volume of figures for good prices. : This is the market forum for the warhammer UK site, again plenty of good deals to be found here. : This is the swap shop for Dakka Dakka and is another great place to find bargains.

Using these above sites I've managed to put together a few armies for well under 50% of NZ retail and even purchase complete well painted armies for about 60% of NZ retail. Most of the trade sites have solid reference systems and if you use Paypal you can always lodge a dispute if something funky goes down.

The Start of Something Little

Hello All and welcome to my new blog, The Little Waaagh! That Could. I'm a wargamer and have been for about 12 years now and currently play:

  • Warhammer Fantasy Battles (Orcs and Goblins, Skaven and hopefully Ogres soon).
  • 15mm Napoleonics using Lasalle, FOGN and Napoleon at War rulesets
  • 6mm Modern Micro-Armour using WRG Rules as well as a set I am designing myself and,
  • 20mm Modern Skirmish using the Force on Force ruleset.
As you can see I am into a wide range (too many?) of periods and as you'd expect I have a giant pile of unpainted figures to get through. I love rolling dice though and wargaming is a cheaper addiction than gambling.

The two main reasons I am starting this blog are to post battle reports, particularly for Warhammer, in order to capture the good moments and by being able to review games become a better Warhammer player as I hope to start entering tournaments next year. The second is to chronicle my progress painting my various armies. The hope is that this will help me get more painted figures on the table in a shorter time frame.

Well thanks for reading and I hope to have a few painting WiP posts, a Napoleon at War battle report and a Warhammer battle report by the end of the week.

Cheers. Jeff
